This is seen in Daniel 9:24-27. “…the Messiah will be cut off. ” (Daniel 9:26) Both the coming and death of the Messiah would take place before the destruction by the Romans of the second temple and the city of Jerusalem.
The prophet Isaiah also speaks of Him as being “cut off out of the land of the living.” (Isaiah 53:8)
The person of Jesus Christ lived in Israel about 2,000 years ago but was then sentenced to death by Pilate, the Roman governor at that time. Read about Jesus’ death in Matthew 27.
Behind all these events was God Almighty, the Creator of the universe.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Romans 4:5
These passages show us that Jesus’ death was for our sins. Jesus, who claimed to be the Messiah in John chapter 4, has come. He has come and died for sinners such as you and me. Through His life and death, Jesus achieves the salvation of people who place their trust entirely in Him. There is no need to wonder who is the Messiah, written of in the Scriptures. Jesus is the God’s Annointed One.
Will you receive Jesus for Who He is as Savior and Lord? Only Jesus Christ and He alone can save us from our sins.
The Bible tells us…“if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
