Jesus Christ
The central figure of Christianity.
The name, Jesus, is the Greek form of the Hebrew name, Joshua or Jeshua, a contraction of Jehoshua, which means “help of Jehovah” or “savior.” It was given to the first child of Mary to denote the object of His mission, to save (Matthew 1:21). To distinguish him from others so-called, he is spoken of as “Jesus of Nazareth” (John 18:7).
The Bible contains multiple passages which attest that Jesus is entirely God. Likewise, the Bible firmly and points out that Jesus became fully human and never committed a sin. No part of the Bible indicates that He ever lost His divine nature.
Through Jesus, we are given the full revelation of God, i.e., the complete expression of God in a human body. In Him, we can examine God’s character and observe His actions in the diverse activities of everyday life.
There is no other Savior or mediator between God and man besides Him is abundantly taught in the New Testament.
It is the main design of the revelation of the Bible to prove this, and it indeed does. Read 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Acts 10:43.
